FAQs

Do you offer a free introductory session?
No the first session is an assessment and will be between 60-90 minutes. The fee for this session is £70 as it is quite different and longer than a weekly session.

How much does it cost?
The weekly sessions are 50 minutes and the fee is £55.

How can I pay for my sessions?
You can pay by cash, bank transfer or cheque.

What happens if I can’t pay for my session?
It is important that you let your therapist know in advance of the session if your finances change.

When are missed sessions charged for?
If the therapist cancels a session you will not be charged, however if you cancel the session then the full fee will be charged.

What happens if I can’t make it to the session?
Please contact the therapist as soon as you can to let them know.

Can I bring my partner/family member/friend with me to the sessions?
This is not recommended however if you feel you would like to bring someone with you please discuss it with your therapist.

How will I know what to say?
Getting started is always difficult but you will be encouraged to talk about what is on your mind.

Will the therapist say anything in the session or will they be silent?
The therapist will have things to ask and be curious about with you. They will also reflect with you on what you’ve said and have observations to offer.

Can I talk about anything?
People use therapy to talk about all sorts of thoughts and feelings however odd they may feel to you.

Are the sessions confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed is confidential. However if we are concerned for your safety or someone you care for, in discussion with you we would be bound to contact authorities. This will be discussed in detail at your assessment. (Click button below to see GDPR Privacy & Data Protection info)

What happens to my personal details you collect?
We keep the minimum of contact details in a secure, locked filing cabinet in the consulting room. This will be discussed in detail at assessment. (Click button below to see GDPR Privacy & Data Protection info)

What if I don’t want to come to any more sessions?
Endings are really important in all our relationships. It is always best to have a planned ending so we would encourage you to discuss this with your therapist to agree an ending period. 

Can I recommend you to my friend or family member?
The therapist you work with is your therapist and it is important to keep this boundary. If you would like to refer someone they can work with another therapist within the same practice.
